Take a trip to the north! See Baguio in a different light. The Baguio Travel Writing Workshop will provide basic instructions on travel writing and some tips on improving your writing style while enjoying the food, art, and natural landscape of this City of Pines.

A Course on Effective Presentation and Public Speaking April T. Yap
April 17, 2010, Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The course aims to help participants manage fears and anxieties related to public speaking and ensure a connection to the target audience. Tips on putting together effective presentation materials will also be given during the workshop.
Speaker April T. Yap has an MA in Mass Communications from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, where she is concurrently teaching and completing her PhD in Creative Writing. Ms. Yap is working as Deputy Director for Insights at GroupM Philippines, a media independent agency.
Workshop fee is P 2,500 inclusive of handouts, materials, snacks, and certificate. A down payment of P1000 is required to reserve a slot. The deadline for reservations is April 12, 2010. A 5 percent discount will be given to those who pay in full on or before the deadline.

Kids learn the basics of book development as they are taught the step-by-step process of creating their own book from writing their own story, breaking down their narrative into scenes, to drawing their characters and events on each page. Writing Women of the 1920s
The works of Filipino women writers in English began to
flourish in the 1920s. In 1925, Paz Marquez Benitez’s
“Dead Stars”, widely regarded as the first modern
Filipino short story, was published in the Philippines
Herald Magazine. According to the Filipino Heritage Series,
the publication of the story ushered in “a period of greater
development in writing in English by Filipinos.”
