To apply for membership at the Ayala Reading Room, you will need to submit a photocopy of your company ID, fill up a membership form here at the library and pay the annual fee of P300.
The Courtyard
What is the capacity of THE COURTYARD?
THE COURTYARD located behind the library can accommodate up to 150 guests (sit down) with ample space for buffet and gift or reception tables, musicians, photographers, sound technician, etc.
How much is the venue rental?
The cost for use of the venue is Php 13,200 inclusive of VAT for the first 4 hours and an additional Php 1,320 inclusive of VAT for each succeeding hour. You will have 3 hours of set up time for free.
Who are THE COURTYARD’s caterers? Can we bring in other caterers?
The Library has 11 preferred caterers namely Via Mare, El Comedor, Deogracia's, Old Swiss Inn, Alba Restaurant, Swan Catering Services, Josiah’s Catering, Craving’s, Tarlaquena Catering, Queensland Catering and Dulcinea Catering. Should the client choose a non-accredited catering service, his/her caterer is required to do an ocular inspection and meet with THE COURTYARD coordinator for the house rules at least one month before the function.
Is there a designated place for the caterer?
A cemented area near THE COURTYARD will be allotted for the client’s caterer. It is advised that the caterer brings utility table/s or a tent (optional) for the preparation of food.
Do you charge food corkage?
There are no corkage fees for food or drinks.
How do you handle overlapping functions?
No two functions are accepted for the same time to avoid overlapping and privacy problems.
Is there adequate space for parking?
A convenient parking space for 15 cars is provided for the client and his/her guests. THE COURTYARD is beside an Ayala pay parking area for other cars.
Will there be THE COURTYARD staff to assist us during the function?
Yes, THE COURTYARD staff will be on hand to assist clients as follows:
- Events coordinator to address venue-related concerns
- A technician on stand by for all technical requirements
- Janitors to maintain the cleanliness of the premises
Do you have equipment available for our use?
Yes we do have equipment available for our clients. The rates for these are as follows (good for four hours):
- Overhead Projector with screen- Php 250.00 / half-day use
- Slide Projector with screen - Php 250.00 / half-day use
- Video Projector with screen - Php 1,000.00 / half-day use
- Video Presenter with screen - Php 1,000.00 / half-day use
- TV and VHS player - Php 1,400.00 / half-day use
*PA system, flipchart, whiteboard and rostrum are available upon request.
All rates are subject to 12% VAT.
Are there THE COURTYARD’s charges?
There are additional charges based on client requirements:
- Electrical charge for Band Facilities - Php 2,000.00
- Electrical charge for Sound System Facilities - Php 1,000.00
- Electrical charge for Mobile Disco Facilities - Php 1,500.00
- Electrical charge for Video Coverage Facilities - Php 1,000.00
What if a brownout occurs?
A generator is on stand by, in case of power failure.
Are there available washrooms?
Clean washrooms are located inside the library and may be reached from THE COURTYARD through the Library’s main door.
Are there any restrictions on the decorations and music?
The client is free to decorate the venue as he/she wishes as long as no permanent fixtures or structures are added to the premises and no damage is done to library property.
There are, likewise, no restrictions as to the choice of music. The use of fireworks is not allowed on the premises.
